Jenny Harris is a freelance Drama Practitioner and Producer based in Manchester.
She works with a diverse range of people - all ages, all abilities.
Jenny loves to devise and make theatre with anyone who likes playing and sharing stories.
She likes finding out about their passions and making work that they can have ownership of.
Jenny is a huge believer in theatre as a powerful tool for developing confidence and communication skills.
She has worked in numerous theatres, community venues and schools in the North-West and loves to collaborate with other artists and different art forms.
Jenny does much of her work in schools (primary and SEN mostly), and has worked extensively with elders and people living with a dementia. She worked for many years on Storybox - a creative dementia project for Small Things CIC and still does creative dementia work.
Jenny's recent work has been with Creative Scene Kirklees, National Youth Theatre and Manchester University as well as at M6 Theatre (Speech Bubbles and youth theatre) and Theatre Porto.
She delivers creative dementia training sessions with nurses on their creative health placements at Chester University.
Jenny works on the Speech Bubbles project - using drama and storytelling to support children with a range of communication issues.
She was lead artist on a three year research project at Manchester University on Care Aesthetics funded by AHRC - where she led a project in a care home in Manchester working with people with dementia called 'Beautiful Feast'.
The Care Lab which came out of the Care Aesthetics project continues to explore projects of care including 'Beautiful Care' - an exciting new piece of work which celebrates the work of carers.

In 2025, Jenny toured 'Our Long Goodbye' - an exhibition of photos, films and text which went to four venues in the North West. In 2024, Jenny was a finalist in the Manchester Culture Awards for her work on the exhibition.
She is hugely grateful to ACE and the Care Lab for funding and supporting this project.
